May 5, 2011: The Rousse is on the Loose!

Have you seen it? The Rousse is on the Loose! That's right, folks, after much anticipation, our very own Red Ale is now available for purchase! Come on down to our brewery for a taste; you won't regret it.

The Lake of Bays Brewing Company is pleased to add this dark, full-bodied red beer to our list of popular brews. Our Rousse pays hommage to this traditional Quebecois style beer, combining dark crystal and roasted malts, with earthy, spicy hops for a well-rounded and complex flavour. A staff favourite here at the brewery, our Rousse retains the full-body and smooth mouthfeel of our Pale Ale, and of course, gets its red colour naturally from carefully brewed ingredients. So go ahead, give it a try. We dare you not to like it! À votre santé!

November 11, 2010: LB Brewing sponsors Snow Cross Racer Brandon Kuehn!

As the snow falls on Lake of Bays Brewing Company (yes people it's been snowing in Baysville) it seems fitting to introduce you to Brandon Kuehn.

Sponsored in part by LB Brewing Company, Brandon will soon be pounding the snow (and we do mean pounding) this winter in one of the toughest and exciting winter sports ever! CSRA Snow Cross Racing. Brandon has been racing for 3 years and has done well for himself. He and his #477 Ski-Doo finished 7th in the points last year despite having missed 4 out of 10 races! That means at least a top 5 placement at each race. He's a self starter with a winning attitude, and is genuinely a good guy. (We don't hitch our wagon to just anyone..) We ask that you show your support for #477! Check out the CSRA website www.snowcross.com for a complete list of this seasons events. Get out with the whole family to the event nearest you, and experience this fast paced, adrenaline pumping winter sport.

October 11, 2010: Mocha Porter!

It was a picture perfect weekend at the Brewery this Thanksgiving. Thank you all (and I do mean all...where did you all come from?) for coming out and for trying our new Mocha Porter. Your feedback was very positive and much appreciated. Is it possible that we have another runaway hit on our hands? Time will tell.

Our first "official" brew on the big system of our delicious Mocha Porter took place just before the holiday weekend, and yes, Testy is once again feeling neglected. We here at Lake of Bays Brewing Company wish that we could share all the sights, sounds and especially the smells of a Mocha Porter brew. There is loads of tasty fragrant, fresh ground coffee from our friends at Diesel House Coffee Roasters in each and every batch. This decadent brew has our mouths watering and we are eager to provide that to you as well. That would be the beer people, the beer..not the drool! Seeing as we can't yet share the beer with you, have a look at these pictures and imagine! Cheers Friends!

July 24, 2010: A Busy Weekend in Baysville!

The brewery was alive and buzzing with activity as Baysville celebrated it's annual Walkabout festival. People came from far and wide to enjoy a taste of Lake of Bays Pale Ale at the Bearfoot Gourmet Beer Garden, where they were treated to first class entertainment courtesy of Tobin Spring and Jamie Bestwick.

All the excitement was enough to peak the interest of local MP and Federal Minister of Industry (beers an industry isn't it???) Tony Clement as well as Lake of Bays Mayor Janet Peake. Both enjoyed a guided tour of the brewery, complete with tasting. We even put Mr. Clement to work behind our bar serving up samples.

Sunday brought a visit by the Toronto Triumph Club. These beautiful automobiles garnered quite the attention.

May 20, 2010: The Grand Opening Event

We finally swung open the doors of the new Lake of Bays Brewing Company. On the evening of May 20th we had quite the crowd huddled outside the front doors waiting anxiously for the grand opening. Councillors Margaret Casey and Phil Cote did the honors of cutting the ceremonial ribbon, with some giant shears of course. We topped off the evening with an open house tour and some sampling. It was definitely a full house and we really appreciate all the support we received from the community. Thanks everyone for making it out that evening!
